Five areas of learning
The 40 Look to Learn activities have been split into five key areas of learning and development:
- Sensory – Designed to teach cause and effect
- Explore – Engage with the whole screen
- Target – Improve accuracy of eye gaze access
- Choose – Develops choice making skills
- Control – Fine tunes eye gaze access
Look to Learn provides a progression from early cause and effect activities right through to choice making and game playing.
This is a great way to learn how to use eye gaze before moving on to The Grid 2 for alternative communication.
Made for you
Many of the activities can be customised to include your favourite images or videos. Simply select an image that is saved on your computer, then get splatting!
The built in analysis tool creates a heat map to shows where the user has looked on the screen during an activity. Heat maps can be saved, printed and used to measure progress and record successes.
Look to Learn has been created with teachers and therapists to provide a tool for assessment:
- Eye tracking – where on the screen is the user looking? Are they engaged with appropriate content?
- Targeting – learn to find targets and fix your gaze on it
- Choice making – introduce early choice making in preparation for AAC
The Look To Learn workbook is designed specially with the software as an assessment tool. It focuses on record keeping for those facilitating eye gaze sessions.
