Take control

Computer Control encompasses typing with an on-screen keyboard, mouse control and direct control of Windows using advanced features of Grid Keys.

Grid Keys

Keyboard control

Your on-screen keyboard layout in Grid Keys is completely up to you!  Keyboards are included with alphabetical and qwerty layouts.  There are also layouts optimised for switch scanning (arranged by frequency-of-use) or for auditory scanning.  You can also create your own layouts, which could include extra keys that you find useful (e.g. accented characters, special symbols, etc).

Mouse control

You can move the mouse pointer with Grid Keys if you are using switches to access your computer.  You can use 'radar' or 'crosshair' pointer movement to perform clicks, drags, double clicks, etc.

Windows control

Grid Keys goes far beyond the ability to replace the mouse and keyboard. It is able to control many aspects of Windows directly. This is especially valuable in reducing the frustration of switch users trying to control the mouse.

Grid Keys has many built in commands that allow you to:

  • Launch and switch between programs
  • Navigate menus (including the Start menu) and dialogue boxes
  • Move and resize windows
  • Navigate web pages
  • Select and edit text

Grid Keys can either be a floating window, or it can be automatically docked with your application. You can also use switches to move the keyboard grids to different places on the screen, or to hide it for a temporary view of the full screen.
